Elphinstone Font is an old-style serif typeface designed by David Nalle of the English type foundry Thorowgood and Co. (later acquired by the Stephenson Blake company). The design is named after Mount Elphinstone, a mountain in British Columbia, Canada.
Elphinstone Font was one of the first typefaces to be cut in Thorowgood’s new type-cutting machine and was one of the first old-style serif fonts to be released for commercial sale.
